smelts
With a lowercase "s" that is. A photo from Saturday night that didn't fit thematically with my blog entries I've been writing and have yet to write. As is usual for me, my pre-big run dinner was sushi, and as an appetizer we had some little fried smelts. Hot, tasty, appealingly salty and slightly greasy.

1. Brett is a big wuss. Jeez, they're only little fish. What creeps him out so much? Weird.
2. Not at all salty, save for the salt sprinkled on after frying. You do realize that anchovies are not salty unless they've been cured/preserved in salt, right?
