See, I'm alive and not too badly off!
I should be savouring my last day before returning to work tomorrow, but there's much to do. Our home is in utter disarray what with laundry to be put away and the mess in the kitchen from replacing the crown mouldings and the resulting mess in the living room where things from the kitchen have been placed for the time being. We'll soon be out the door to head to the Container Store, Sam's, maybe Home Depot, and maybe Whole Foods. Yoshi's tonight.
In other words, much to do, and Conrad will have to do the heavy lifting, unfortunately for him.
Oh well. More food shots for right now instead. Bryan
had helped Conrad replace the crown mouldings, so Conrad
treated him and his partner John
to dinner at Pizza D.O.C. up near them in Lincoln Square. Busy little restaurant - even with a late-ish 9:00 reservation we still had to wait in a small knot of people at the door. We were ravenous when we sat down and quickly ordered up some calamari, carpaccio, and an arugula salad and a bit of wine (an interesting rosato for me that tasted of raisins). For dinner we split three pizzas
and a calzone.
The best? The Silvi e Gabriele: tomato sauce, mozzarella, arrugula, Prosciutto di Parma, sliced tomatoes, shaved parmigiano.
